United States officially received about 10 thousand Venezuelans as permanent residents each year, according to the Department Homeland Security. The figure has almost quadrupled in the past 15 years : in 1998 there were 2503 green cards given to Venezuelan and amounted to 9409 in 2010.The trend within the sport is similar. Meanwhile, during that same period nearly tripled the number of Venezuelans who joined Major League Baseball. He went from 102 Venezuelans who had gone through the MLB in 1998 to 300 in the 2013 campaign. However, until now ignored the number of Venezuelans playing in the minor leagues in the country. We do not know who these guys in full, do not even know how many. With this project we decided to answer this question by developing a data scrapping work, scratching list of our players from the portal of Minor League Baseball ( MILB.com ), then did data mining and refinement using public inputs, but not open of the site. We developed a program to capture the Venezuelan database involved in the American Minor Leagues. The first result yielded a universe of more than 11,931 players of which 1298 are venezuelans. This figure, the full list of all players, has never been compiled despite being the case of sport migration largest annual in Venezuela.
